Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics was drawn up in order to outline the guiding principles on professional and personal ethics for members of the Chamber of Digital Economy and its affiliated entities.

CODE OF ETHICS FOR MEMBERS OF THE CHAMBER OF DIGITAL ECONOMY (The e-Chamber)

Each member and partner of the Chamber of Digital Economy (hereinafter referred to as e-Chamber) undertakes:

  1. 1. In their communication and relations with the e-Chamber, including its bodies, members, and partners – to state their name, the name of the person or entity or entities for which they work or which they represent, and, when called upon by the bodies of the e-Chamber, to inform about the interests in which they act, their aims or intentions, and the clients or members they represent, insofar as such information is related to the activity of the e-Chamber and is not covered by the member’s or partner’s business secret,
  2. 2. To ensure that the information they provide to the e-Chamber, in particular by submitting a declaration of membership or partnership and any updates thereof, is complete, up-to-date, and truthful and that they provide information in the interests of the e-Chamber, members or partners of the e-Chamber in a manner which is truthful and in line with high business and ethical standards of conduct,
  3. 3. Not to obtain, or attempt to obtain, information or decisions from members of the e-Chamber or from entities, institutions, or individuals cooperating with the e-Chamber, or from their clients or business partners, in a fraudulent manner or through improper conduct, and not to induce these entities to violate the rules of conduct to which they are subject,
  4. 4. Not to derive material benefit from making copies of documents received from the e-Chamber or other institutions with which the e-Chamber cooperates available to third parties, except with the express consent of the e-Chamber,
  5. 5. To reliably inform the e-Chamber and its bodies and, if necessary, the other members or partners of the e-Chamber of any obligations under a loyalty agreement, and confidentiality-related or similar obligations, incumbent on the member or partner of the e-Chamber, due to which they will not be able to properly perform their duties towards the e-Chamber,
  6. 6. To improve competence and knowledge in the areas in which they operate or specialise, and commit themselves to undertake only those activities which they are able to carry out based on their skills, knowledge, and competence,
  7. 7. To ensure the transparency of their work within the e-Chamber, which in particular involves informing the e-Chamber bodies and those involved in the relevant e-Chamber work of the results of the work and disclosing all relevant facts known to them,
  8. 8. To carry out their duties as a member or partner of the e-Chamber with professional care and diligence, in accordance with the professional standards of the e-commerce industry,
  9. 9. To act in accordance with the standards and internal regulations set by the e-Chamber,
  10. 10. When employing persons previously employed by or working with the e-Chamber, including assistants, interns, and trainees – to respect the obligation of such persons to comply with the regulations and confidentiality requirements to which they are subject.

Pursuant to Article 10 section 1 d), item i) of the Statutes of the e-Chamber, gross or persistent violations of the Code of Ethics for Members of the e-Chamber may result in the Board of the e-Chamber calling on the member concerned to desist from the violation, and in the event of failure to comply – their exclusion from the e-Chamber.
